Concerns Regarding COVID-19

Dear Purple Onion Community,
The spread of COVID-19 has generated understandable concerns in our community, and therefore we wanted to reach out to you with information on upcoming events and a list of steps we are taking to create the safest environment for our customers and team. We will continue to send updated information in the days to come as we monitor the situation. The welfare of our staff and community is our top priority and we will continue to comply with instructions set forth by health organizations.

Steps we are taking to provide a safe environment:

  • Consistently cleaning and disinfecting all items that are commonly touched.(doorknobs, tables, chairs, menus, POS stations, etc.)
  • Have increased our schedule of sanitizing commonly touched surfaces
  • Removing tables to provide a safe distance between patrons
  • Are reinforcing our strict hand-washing policy to ensure that all employees thoroughly wash their hands routinely, and always when returning to work
  • Have placed additional hand sanitizers in shared spaces for both guests and employees
  • Are further educating our employees on preventative measures provided by the CDC
  • Are following CDC policy for employees that may show symptoms of acute respiratory illness to stay home or seek medical care
  • Are encouraging employees to use PTO days as needed
  • Are ensuring all employees are wearing gloves to roll silverware and bus tables
  • Are discouraging all personal contact within our restaurants, including shaking hands
  • Are staying on top of developing news and recommended procedures, which includes contacting vendors, local authorities, reviewing the CDC website
  • Have distributed additional information to our employees on hand-washing and further details about COVID-19 and how to thwart the spread

Please be patient with us while we take the time to follow through with these extra precautions. Each employee is either putting on gloves or washing their hands for the proper time between each contact, which takes time. With fewer tables there will most likely be a wait. We strive to continue giving you the dining experience that you have come to know and love at The Purple Onion, however, maintaining your safety is our primary concern.

Upcoming Events

  • As of now Thursday and Saturday shows will continue with extra precautions including removing tables to allow for more personal space.
  • James McMurtry Show – At this time, until otherwise notified, the concert will proceed as scheduled. However, in the case of a canceled or rescheduled show, patrons will be notified via email regarding refunds and/or rescheduling. REFUNDS – With the extenuating circumstances we will be giving refunds to those that are showing signs of illness or are uncomfortable being in an intimate social gathering.

We strongly recommend that all patrons follow the preventative guidelines provided by the CDC. If you are experiencing any of the known symptoms of Coronavirus, please be courteous of others and stay home. Please remember to cover your mouth if you cough or sneeze, wash your hands frequently with soap for 20 seconds, and avoid touching your face.
